Choice

Who can afford
to deny the Lord?
There aren’t many
actually there aren’t any.
You will be in big trouble
your life will be rubble.
Even though you appear to thrive
you will not survive.
If you want to live
you must give
the Lord what is due
otherwise you
are all through.
So use your voice
make the right choice.
If the Lord you chose
you will not lose.
What you must say
“Lord, I will obey.”
In Him you will dwell
feeling quite swell.

God Alone

You have heard my cry
You tend to my every need
You are so holy and yet
Here You are with me
Taking such good care
You are always there for me
You alone I can trust
You alone are my hope
You are my portion
In You I delight
Comfort and joy fill my soul
You are faithful
And true to Your Word
Blessed be Your Name

Profound

I have found
writing is profound.
The Lord sure does speak
for it was Him I did seek.
It is such a great way
for me to pray.
I am able to say
what’s on my heart each day.
Weather I’m happy or sad
whether I’m mad or glad.
Even if my light is dim
I can still go to Him.
He is always there
because He does care.

Religion *James 1:26-27

26 Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. 27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Lord, God of Israel, open our eyes to see the truth about religion and the way we are behaving. Help us to be pleasing to You in our behavior; our words and deeds. May we not fall by the wayside. Teach us the right way to live and show us where we need to improve to glorify Your Name. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Only God

Only God can fill my soul
and make it whole
Him I will extol.
~
It is absolutely absurd
when His Word
is not even heard.
~
Don’t wait or be slow
today is the time to go
to His Word to know.

Last Night

My Sovereign Lord
has a great and mighty Sword
He is glorious
In Him, I’m victorious
In me, I have a big mess
In Him, I have success

Last night was a different talk
It was a refreshing walk
His Spirit was the One who led
because of Him, one was fed.
He gave correction
along with direction.
He stopped the commotion
enabling a promotion.
~
God is great
Last night we ate.
We ate hardy
it was like a party.
I did celebrate
He did elevate
a new understanding
on a new landing.
He brought me great joy
about the one who’s no longer a boy.

Instead of Regret

It is so sad
to wish you had.
All you will get
is filled with regret.
It’s a sad way one goes
being filled with woes.
Why not do what is right
it will save you from plight.
But then,
why again
be filled with remorse?
Why not change your course?
You can now change
yes, you can rearrange.
Instead of being had
you can be glad.
Instead of regret
you can actually get
a new life
instead of strife.

Take Note *James 1:19-25

19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. 21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the Word planted in you, which can save you.

Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the Word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

Lord, show us where we stand when it comes to relationships. Reveal to each one of us what type of listener we actually are. Help us to become a better listener and doer of Your Word. In Jesus Name. Amen

Walk the Talk

I need to walk
What I talk
Stop messing around
With my face to the ground
I keep seeing the same thing
If I listen my heart will sing
I will be glad
I have not been had
God has a good plan

No More

There will be no more conception
of ungodly perception
No matter what does appear
understanding will be clear
No more bologna
away with the phony
When you call upon
I say, “Be gone!”
It will be the wrong number
I am not and will not slumber
I will not be connected
to the one infected
Nor will I freeze
I will move about with ease
I am in His sorority
He’s given me authority
I will stand firm
I will not squirm
I will use what was given me
to glorify God Almighty
