Good word to meditate on today. Need rest? Need direction? Here is the solution:
Matthew 11: 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Today’s devotional needs no commentary or explanation. The words of Jesus are simple to understand. If by chance it is not crystal clear, all you have to do is seek the Lord and ask Him for clarification and understanding.
Mark 8:34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
God’s will – here it is. God has willed everything to Jesus. If we go to Him He will: reveal the Father and give rest to the weary and the burdened. If you learn from Jesus He will be gentle and humble with you and give rest to your soul.
Try meditating on what Jesus said, “My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” To be yoked with Jesus is to be linked to Him; to be right next to Him. Whichever way He goes you will follow and go the same way. He is right by your side and does not go anywhere without you. If God is for us – who can be against us!
Burden – a burden is not what we want. A burden hurts, is painful, a very heavy load to carry. Jesus said if we are with Him He will help carry the load making the pain, hurt, unbearable stress, and/or over whelming situation more than just manageable. He will carry it with us; removing the pressure and weight off of our backs and shoulders. With God all things are possible.
There is power in the name of Jesus. He is the only One who has the power to do miracles:
Makes the blind see.
Lame to walk.
Dead raised to life.
Salvation to poor.
Is the only way into the Kingdom of Heaven.
Praise be to His holy Name. Thank you Lord Jesus for the power in Your most Holy Name. Teach us how to use Your holy, powerful Name in order to bring glory to God Most High. Thank you for all You do. Blessed be Your Name.
This is self explanatory. It needs no explanation. These are the words of Jesus.
17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. (fulfill here means to enrich; make full – like a full glass of milk) 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.
Lord, teach us Your Word. Open our understanding. Reveal to Your people what it means: Jesus has not come to abolish the Law or the Prophets, but to fill them full. Lord, may our righteousness surpass that of the Pharisees and teachers of the law. Teach us Your Word O God and help us to follow Jesus Messiah. Thank You God. In Jesus Name we pray.
Let Your light shine before man that they may see your good deeds and praise the Lord God Almighty.
Short and sweet. Few words, but powerful.
Lord, fan the coal into flame. May we be a burning torch for You that our light would shine ever so bright that it would draw people to You. That they would see our good deeds and glorify You – the One True God. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Rejoice and be glad when people insult, are mean, hurtful, and persecute you, for your reward is great – they persecuted the prophets who went before you.
Lord, help us to keep our eyes on You. Help us to ward off any offense. Give us forgiving hearts that You would be glorified in all that we have to go through. Your reward is great in heaven. Teach us how to store up riches in heaven. May our eyes be on You and the things of this world will grow strangely dim in the light of Your glorious face. Make us strong in You. Give us confidence, courage, and boldness to hold firm to You, Your Word. And when we are slipping and having trouble holding on, I thank You for Your faithfulness in not letting us go by extending Your mighty arm and Your righteous right hand to take hold of us to keep us safe and secure from all alarm. Steady our heart, hands, and feet. Be glorified in our lives. Thank You God! In Jesus Name. Amen.
Jesus heals sick, diseased, paralyzed, demon-possessed, seizures, pain, etc. Jesus healed all who were brought to Him. Jesus did this for them. Jesus can do this for us. Jesus can do this for me.
His healings might not be what we think they should be, sometimes it’s even better than we could’ve ever imagined. Our God is powerful and loves us so much. His main desire is that none – absolutely none should perish (not live eternally in damnation – hell. Heaven and hell are real.)
Lord, Maker and Creator of all things open our eyes to see the truth about life and eternity. Show us Your Word is real, unchanging. Show us the error of our ways and lead us into everlasting, eternal life with You. Lord, many of us are in need of a touch from You. We need Your healing touch. Come, Lord Jesus and touch us physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Heal our minds, hearts, and bodies.
We give You all the praise, honor, and glory. Thank you!
