Holy Scripture

May the holy Scripture
remain a fixture
in my heart
and where I’m smart
May They not only be fused
but constantly used
In my brain
may They remain
May this not be temporary
but remain in my memory
Word application
is my supplication
twenty-four, seven
may it be like leaven
growing and growing inside
In It I will abide.

Judgment *James 4:11-12

11 Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. 12 There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?
Lord, again Your Word says not to judge. We judge others so readily that we sometimes don’t even realize we are doing it. Reveal to us when we are judging others, lead us into repentance, and help us to stop judging ourselves and others. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness. For Your Word says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9). In Jesus Name, amen.

My Love

I love the Lord so much
It is in Him I live
It is in Him I love
It is in Him I have peace
His kind, gentle way
keeps me from going astray
He is right by my side
He is more than a guide
He is my life
He is my portion
in Whom I delight
When He fills me
I am full
I hunger not
I am not in want
I cannot lose
If I get confused
He is right there
taking good care
Blessed be Your Name
Your glorious Name

Those who are a stiff-neck
say, “Oh, what the heck!”
They immediately go astray
not following the way.
If they used their brain
from rebellion they’d refrain.
Their focus is off
when you hear them scoff.
Greatly do they complain
yet, that’s where they remain.
They will often hiss.
Do you want to be around this?
God cannot be mocked
their way will be blocked.
If they live in reality
gone will be their fatality.
God’s ways are right
He will shine a light.
He always takes good care
watching over one’s welfare
My advice to you
is to be careful who
you are constantly around
for you could end up bound.
They could cause you to drown
because they’ve pulled you down.
So, why not stay free
abide in the Almighty.

Your Job

If you don’t like your job
and think they rob
from you all the time
against you do crime.
Why stay!
Be on your way.
Why create a ruckus
and constantly cuss?
Leave the place
you’re taking up space.
Make room for the new
someone not like you.
They will like their job
and won’t forever sob
over how things are run
and what leadership’s done.
You now have a choice
in how to use your voice.
Will it be one to uplift
or will it be to cause a rift?

Wisdom *James 3:13-4:10

3 13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. 14 But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. 15 Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
4 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? 2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
4 You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us? 6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:
“God opposes the proud
but shows favor to the humble.”
7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
Lord God, when we pray may our motives be pure andmatch the will of God for our lives and the lives of others. Lord, humble our wills and unify our wills with Your will. Your will, O Lord, not mine be done on earth as it is in heaven. Not my will, but Thine be done. In Jesus Name amen.
