Ready *2 Tim. 4:2-5

In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: 2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 5 But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship,

Lord, open doors of opportunity for us to preach and teach and proclaim Your Word; to be ready in season and out of season; when convenient or inconvenient. To correct, confront, rebuke and encourage with great patience and careful instruction. Lord our God, turn our ears towards You and not away from the truth towards myths. May we have a clear mind in all things, keep our head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of proclaiming the Good News and fulfill our service to You, Lord our God. In Jesus Name. (2 Tim. 4:2,4-5 prayer)

Last Days *2 Tim. 3:1-5

1 But know this, that in the last days [a]perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.
~~~
Lord, may we be Your people who reject all the lies from Satan and only seek to bring You glory. Keep us from ungodliness, sinful desired, pride, and arrogance. Thank you. In Jesus Name.
Flee From Evil *2 Tim. 2:22-26
22 Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. 24 And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. 25 Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
Lord, teach Your people how to cleanse themselves, so that they will be instruments for noble purposes, made holy, useful to You, the Master and to be prepared to do any good work. (2 Tim. 2:21 prayer)
Approved *2 Tim. 2:15-16a
15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. 16 Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.
~~~
Lord, God of Israel, help us to do our best to present ourselves to You as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the Word of truth. Keep us from godless chatter and to avoid it. (2 Tim. 2:15-16a prayer)

Soldier *2 Tim. 2:4-7

*vs. 4  no one serving as a soldier entangles himself in the activities of everyday life, so that he might please the one who enlisted him.
So, vs 4 & 5 : 1) Keep focus on God; His Word and what He’s called you to do.  2) Live by and follow God’s Word. vs. 6 you will reap what you sow
vs. 7 consider this, for the Lord will give you understanding
vs. 8 Jesus is the Good News. Jesus/ the Good News rose from the dead.
~~~
4 No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. 5 Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules. 6 The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops. 7 Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this.
~~~
Lord, help us to endure hardship with a good attitude and keep our focus on You, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus, wanting to please our commanding officer. Similarly, that we would compete like an athlete according to the rules, so we can receive the victor’s crown. And be hard working like the farmer who is first to receive a share of the crop. Lord, as we reflect on this truth, Your Word says that You, Lord our God, will give us insight into all of this, so may it be in our lives. (2 Tim. 2:3-7 prayer)
