Yahoo

Yippy, yahoo!
He will show me what to do
He has set me on my way
in the way I’m to go today
He has set my feet
to the proper beat
No longer is there confusion
I’ve received a transfusion
I ate of hardy protein
which tasted quite keen
It not only nourished my bones
it made the truth known
Now His peace inside
is where I’ll abide

Overwhelmed

When I feel so over-whelmed
I can see a fraction of truth
Words cannot tell
Words cannot express
the magnitude of who You are
Your never-ending love
Your infinite mercies
Your indescribable grace
never-ending
We are but dust before You
O holy One of Israel

Come and have pity on me
wash my clothes
purify my heart
Remove all rubbish and rebellion
May you instill in me
a pure and contrite heart
Turn me from my sin
which squeezes me within
I want to let go
of the way I think I should go
I have tasted
I have seen a glimpse

I ask Lord,
“Please, please
bring me to that place
where I need to be
Your faithfulness is astounding
In this I place my hope
You give me all I need
forgive my fretting.”
I can rest
only in the One
who is the best

Today & Tomorrow *Matt. 6:20-34

Live in the day. Don’t worry about tomorrow. Focus on what you are doing now – today. Think about tomorrow, tomorrow. What do you need to do today – do it; and do not push it to tomorrow?

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Bruising

We must be aware
not giving way to despair
The enemy is found
hanging around
The enemy is on the prowl
I hear him growl
He’s telling us we should
do that which is not good
It’s more than a hunch
he’s about to punch
the body’s middle insides
wanting to hear our cries
Our enemy keeps on hounding
trying to break us down by pounding.
He wants to stop our cruising
with blows that cause bruising
~
We don’t need a riddle
to protect our middle
Just call on our Lord
and use His mighty Sword
to fend off the attack
for there’s nothing we lack
Trust in our God
to Him give applaud
For this He did warn
He doesn’t want the body torn
Call on Him now
for He’ll show us how
to skillfully deal
with the one who does steal

“Lord, You are so awesome
We ask, please come
Be our guard
Keep us from hard
whacks to vital organs
keep us from shenanigans
May Your protective covering
not cease from hovering
over the body entire
You are what we desire
Come now to us this day
please do not delay
chase the enemy away
This is what I pray.”

God is Great

I will never hesitate
to always say,
“God is great!”
He cleared my way.
~
I am filled
with joy
over what He has willed
which I will employ.
~
It’s always the same
His love
yes, it came
from God above.
~
He brings me peace
and direction
I will never cease
to show Him my affection.
~
Only He can touch my heart
with His gracious and gentle hand
He makes me feel smart
He enables me to stand.
~
I stand tall and straight
He calls my attention
I will not hesitate
to enter into His dimension.
~
He fills me
all the time
and it’s plain to see
it is all mine.
~
Although I do share
with others
because I care
for all my brothers.

Serve *Matt. 6:20-21

Can’t serve both money and God. One will dominate over the other. Chose this day whom you will serve. Earthly riches will pass away, but heavenly riches are eternal which money cannot buy.

20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

God Only Knows

Only God knows
how life goes.
It is for all
that He does call.
If you follow Him
without a whim
He will set your feet
upon the right street.
Obedience is sweet
for you will meet
your Maker
who’s your Caretaker.
You will avoid God’s wrath
for your feet are on the right path.
If you walk around with smiles
it could save unwanted miles.
Don’t forget to learn of His Sword
plus worship and pray to the Lord.
This to Him will be pleasing
and will keep you from freezing.
