*Jesus healed leprosy – Jesus wanted too.
*Jesus said, “Your faith healed your servant. Just as you believe, so it will be.”
*Jesus touched Peter’s mother-in-law and healed her.
*Jesus said, “Why are you so afraid, you of little faith,” and calmed the storm.
*Jesus cast out demons setting two men free.(people are afraid of what they don’t understand.)
Lord, you are the same today, yesterday, and tomorrow. Give us the faith we need to believe and trust in You. As You did miraculous things and healings move us to the place where we can trust You in all things and for all things. Blessed be Your Holy Name. Thank you Jesus Messiah
*don’t judge others
*don’t cast your pearls before swine
*ask (get), seek (find), knock (open door)
*do onto others as you want done to you
*how you spend your time in life will determine where you spend eternity. Your time = what you do, think, say
*there are two kinds of people – foolish & wise
Live in the day. Don’t worry about tomorrow. Focus on what you are doing now – today. Think about tomorrow, tomorrow. What do you need to do today – do it; and do not push it to tomorrow?
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Can’t serve both money and God. One will dominate over the other. Chose this day whom you will serve. Earthly riches will pass away, but heavenly riches are eternal which money cannot buy.
20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
5 “And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. 7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9 In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
Have we lost the teachings of Jesus? Are we so focused on Grace that we by pass what Jesus said? What He taught? This is crucial because He taught and showed us the way to heaven. And not only that, He showed us the way we can have peace on earth no matter what is going on around us. If we follow/obey Him we will be blessed. He is the only way, the truth, and the life.
17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
When I hear repent I think of John the Baptist. However, from the beginning to the end of Jesus’ life he also preached repentance. He preached the Good News, did miraculous healings of all sorts and became widely known.
Repent means to turn away from sin and do it no longer.
