Thanksgiving Day
Is a day when we say
Thank you to God
For specific things
The blessings He brings

For our forefathers
Who served the Lord
Who fought for this land
Under God’s protective hand
This free and bountiful country

We have food to eat
Fruit, vegetables, and meat
And so many sweets
We have clothing and shelter
Protection from all kinds of weather

There is so much more
Material blessings galore
But not just that
Spiritual blessings too
Our gracious Lord gave to me and you

This Thanksgiving

This coming Thanksgiving Day
Let’s pay attention to what we say
The Lord freely gives
He is the only God who lives
Blessings God does give
Protects us where we live
You Lord are the Great Giver
Redeemer and Deliverer

All that we have comes from You
Salvation is for all not just a few
You provide and protect
Deserving of all respect
Thank you for family and friends
The list of thanks never ends
So, on this Thanksgiving Day
Let us give thanks when we pray

The Day After

If I look upon yesterday
That great Atonement Day
The Lord sure did release
His wonderful peace
Even though we did fast
Being with Him is a blast
We prayed all kinds of prayers
Asked forgiveness and stated our cares
It was a day to repent
Asking God not to relent
His strong and mighty arm
Protection from all harm
We asked Him to forgive
Our sins so we can live
To live and dwell in His grace
Have His protection every place
With our hearts to honor Him
To keep our lives from being grim
Asked Him to forgive every sin
All wickedness that dwells within

The Lord’s Atonement

The Lord’s atonement
Is not a postponement
I will not die
I will live on high

Because of what Jesus did
There is nothing left hid
All sin was exposed
It was captured and enclosed

He took it all on Him
Everything dark and grim
He went to the cross
It was not for loss

For He rose from the dead
His blood covers our head
Now we are right
In God’s sight

On Jesus we lean
We are now made clean
Holy Spirit leads us to pray
And shows us the way

So on this Yom Kippur
The Lord I implore
Cleanse me within
Remove all my sin

Lord, make me whole
It is You I extol
Fill me with Your Spirit
Obey Your Word when hearing it
So I would bring honor & fame
To Your glorious, mighty Name

During these 10 Days of Awe
I will bow my knee
Before You, God Almighty
I will acknowledge who You are
I will meditate on Your Word
Dwell on what You have done
Your mighty and glorious acts
Read & meditate on true facts
Praise and thank You for Your hand
Your righteous right hand
Gives support and helps us to stand
Your ways are ever so grand
You love and reprimand
Have given us Your command
Abounding is Your grace
Reflected in Your people’s face
No man can erase

Your unfailing mercy
Is plain for all to see
It comes from only Thee
Your guiding light
Whether faint or bright
Leads us to insight
You empower us to fight
Putting the enemy to flight
We are always in Your sight
Oh Your majesty and power
A wonderful strong tower
Oh the gifts You give
Giving Holy Spirit to live
The peace and comfort You bring
Makes every heart sing
O God Most High
The only Lord; Adonai

Biblical New Year

Oct. 2 at sundown is the beginning of the Biblical New Year – Rosh Hashanah.   Ten Days of Awe starts at sundown and ends 10 days later at sundown beginning on Sun., Oct. 2 through Wed., Oct. 12. It is a time of examination – self and who God is and your relationship with Him. It is a time set apart truly seeking Him; soul searching. A time for serious introspection of yourself, your relationship with others, and especially your relationship with the One true God – The God of Abraham, Isaac, & Jacob.
These 10 days are considered Days of Repentance; a time of reconciling with people you have wronged/ offended/hurt and a time of reconciliation with God. It is truly a powerful time.
