Strong Faith *Gen. 39:1-6b

Genesis 39:1-6b;NIV
Joseph was favored by his father. His brothers were jealous of him, so at the right time they betrayed Joseph by selling him into slavery. Joseph was brought into a foreign country and sold as a slave. Losing all freedom and pleasures of life, Joseph now has no rights, no freedom, and under a master’s control. But God…. God was with Joseph.
Joseph did not lose faith in God just because his life radically changed from a very good and comfortable life to one that’s unthinkably horrible with total restriction. On the contrary, Joseph held fast to his faith in God and put God first in his life by honoring God in all that he had to do. Because Joseph honored God with a good work ethic, God was with Joseph and blessed everything Joseph put his hands on. God made his work prosper so much so that even his master acknowledged the blessings of this Hebrew’s God.
Storms come and go. Troubles and tribulations come and go. What’s important is how we go through the storms, troubles, trials, and tribulations.   He is the source of all strength and hope. We have His promises.
As Scripture states:
Phil. 4:13 “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.;NIV
Matthew 19:26  Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”;NIV
Mark 10:27  But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”;NIV

Mark 9:23  Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”;NIV

When God Speaks * Gen. 35:1-5

Genesis 35:1-5;NIV
When God speaks and we listen and follow His way – doing what He spoke – that’s when we become free. God goes before us clearing the way. His protective hand is upon us; no one and nothing can touch us – as seen here in the life of Jacob. Praise the Lord for His mighty protection and provision.
Note: It wasn’t just Jacob that God was protecting, it was Jacob plus his family, relatives, and those who worked for him.
Our actions, what we do, will definitely affect/effect our families, relatives, and all those around us.

I like what Joshua said when he was put in charge of a multitude of people, “As for me and my house we will serve the Living God.”  Joshua 24:15
Lord, open our eyes to see the wonderful things in Your Word.

God Spoke *Gen. 7:1-10

Genesis 7:1-10;NIV
Noah – was righteous.  Noah did as God commanded all his life – before the flood, during, and after the flood.  God spoke it and then God made it happen:  God told Noah to take animals and birds on the ark, however God was the One who sent them to Noah. Noah did not have to go get them, or even look for them. God brought all of them to Noah. When God speaks God does – proving He is faithful to His Word.

1 Thes. 5:24   “He who calls you is faithful and He will do it.”

Way to Go *Gen. 6:9-22

Genesis 6:9-22;NIV
When God calls His servants (His people) to a task, God is very specific in how it is to be done.
Jesus we need to copy
There’s no room to be sloppy
Follow Him with all your might
Then you will find delight
This is the right way to go
This everyone must know
Make no mistake
There is one road to take
All others fail
Leading to travail

My Actions *Gen. 6:1-9

Genesis 6:1-9;NIV
God was grieved and His heart was filled with pain over man’s (man= humanity) sin and the turning away from Him. The creation turned away from the Creator.  Here is something to think about:  Are my actions grieving God or not?

How do I act
Or do I react
Do I cause pain
Or promote joy
Does it remain
Does it deploy
Does it affect others
The choice is up to you
How about your brothers
Think – what do you do

Adam & Eve *Gen. 3

Genesis 3;NIV
*Whether we eat or just touch what God says not too – it will bring   death.
*Who am I listening too – Jesus or the evil one?
*Sin is: good tasting, desirable, and pleasing to the eye – but brings   hardship and death.
*Blaming someone else for our sin doesn’t make it right or justify us.   Plus, there’s a grave consequence to one’s own actions/reactions.

God does know what is best
Only in Him can we truly rest
Every action
Every reaction
Has a consequence
Each one has been given a choice
Will you cry or will you rejoice
Make no mistake
The choice is ours to make
In God’s sight
Will it be right
Call on Him right away
Do not delay
Your call He will heed
He will give you what you need
But you have to go to Him
And not give into whim
Then you can succeed
You the Lord has freed

Don’t be like Adam and Eve
And let the Evil One deceive
If you make the right choice
Then you will rejoice
You won’t be caught in Satan’s web
You have listened to what God said
We choose many times a day
Walking with Him you’ll be okay
