Joseph was favored by his father. His brothers were jealous of him, so at the right time they betrayed Joseph by selling him into slavery. Joseph was brought into a foreign country and sold as a slave. Losing all freedom and pleasures of life, Joseph now has no rights, no freedom, and under a master’s control. But God…. God was with Joseph.
Joseph did not lose faith in God just because his life radically changed from a very good and comfortable life to one that’s unthinkably horrible with total restriction. On the contrary, Joseph held fast to his faith in God and put God first in his life by honoring God in all that he had to do. Because Joseph honored God with a good work ethic, God was with Joseph and blessed everything Joseph put his hands on. God made his work prosper so much so that even his master acknowledged the blessings of this Hebrew’s God.
Storms come and go. Troubles and tribulations come and go. What’s important is how we go through the storms, troubles, trials, and tribulations. He is the source of all strength and hope. We have His promises.
