Every Year

Each and every year
What do you hear
What brings cheer
What fills your ear
Commercials huff and puff
It’s all about stuff
Don’t have enough
But it is all a bluff
Continually they implore
Go and check the store
You need to buy more
Doesn’t matter if you’re poor
But that does not bring peace
Contentment will not release
Happiness & joy will soon cease
Discontentment will increase

Ignore buying inflammation
Turn to the God of Creation
Fill your mind with Bible information
Then you won’t be in want
Needless things they flaunt
No matter how much they taunt
Contentment will overtake haunt
So the reason
For the season
Is not treason
But Jesus pleasin’

1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. 2 Worship the LORD with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. 3 Know that the LORD is God.
