Words of Jesus *Matt. 5:17-20

Matthew 5:17-20
This is self explanatory. It needs no explanation. These are the words of Jesus.
17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. (fulfill here means to enrich; make full – like a full glass of milk) 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.
Lord, teach us Your Word. Open our understanding. Reveal to Your people what it means: Jesus has not come to abolish the Law or the Prophets, but to fill them full. Lord, may our righteousness surpass that of the Pharisees and teachers of the law. Teach us Your Word O God and help us to follow Jesus Messiah. Thank You God. In Jesus Name we pray.

Thank Him

Come and praise Him evening, morning, noon
Why not sing to the Lord a brand new tune
Thank Him for the sun, stars, and moon
Thank Him for all fish, cats, and the loon
Thank Him for dogs, honey bees, and raccoon
Thank Him for trees, flowers, and the lagoon
Thank Him for food, clothing, and the spoon
Thank Him for all He gave morning, evening, noon
Come Lord Jesus, we pray you come soon
