Why does God do miracles? Why does God allow hardship and impossible situations to arise in our lives. These verses tell us why. It’s explained so simply. God allows difficulties and does miracles “so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord is powerful and so that you might always fear the Lord your God.”
~~~
23 For the LORD your God dried up the Jordan before you until you had crossed over. The LORD your God did to the Jordan what He had done to the Red Sea when He dried it up before us until we had crossed over. 24 He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the LORD is powerful and so that you might always fear the LORD your God.”
OK. So God allows difficulties, hardships, impossible situations to happen. When a cry went up to God for help that’s when God answered. He performed a miracle. Both times, at the Red Sea with Moses and now the Jordon River with Joshua, God parted the waters and God’s people were able to cross over on dry ground.
~~~
OK. So why? God did this for two specific reasons. 1. All the people on earth will know that God is real and powerful and can do what man cannot do. 2. God’s people will always fear (revere, trust, respect, honor, obey, worship) Him. Plain and simple: God wanted to show His people that they can trust Him for all things. God wants a relationship with His people. He doesn’t want it to be one sided. It takes two to make a friendship. It takes two to have a relationship. That is why God does allow  things to happen. It really is for our own benefit, even though it doesn’t seem like it. Some things we will never understand, but that is OK because God is God and we are not. This is where faith comes in. Faith is believing in the unseen. If we can see it then it is not faith.
~~~
Just because this happened in ancient times does not mean it can’t happen today. God is alive and doing well. He is the same and has never changed. He allows difficulties, hardships, impossible situations in our lives, so that we can come to know Him, grow to trust Him, and know Him better.
~~~

Simple to monumental is one in the same for God. Nothing is too difficult for Him. He is all powerful, mighty, sovereign, Creator of all things, above all and in all.
~~~
If you don’t know this mighty God call upon His name and He will answer you. Tell Him what is in your heart. He will answer you. Why? Because He made you and loves you. He loves what He has created – you.
