Mountain Top Experience #2 Exodus 19:1-19

Exodus 19:1-19
This theme, Mountain Top Experience comes from the Book of Exodus chapters 3, 19, and 24.  There are 4 parts to this theme.
Part #2

Moses did exactly as the Lord God instructed & directed him to do. The Hebrews were now safe and free from their enemy. After about three months of travel, Moses experienced his second mountain top experience with God on Mount Sinai.
The first mountain top experience was to tell Moses how God was going to lead His people out from the bondage of slavery through Moses. The reason for Moses’ second mountain top experience was that God wanted Moses to give a message from Him to His people. God wanted to remind His people that it was by His hand they are now safe and free from bondage. And that He loves them and wants to provide and protect them. God wants to bless them and treat them as a “treasured possession” – people of great worth and value.
3 Then Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain and said, “This is what you are to say to the descendants of Jacob and what you are to tell the people of Israel: 4 ‘You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself. 5 Now if you obey Me fully and keep My covenant, then out of all nations you will be My treasured possession. Although the whole earth is Mine, 6 you will be for Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.”

Moses became the mediator between God and His people. Moses told God’s people what God said, and all the people said they agreed to God’s terms. God gave Moses further instructions for the people. This mountain top experience was also to confirm that God Himself had chosen Moses to be the leader of God’s people. It was not something that Moses wanted or even asked for, but was God’s choosing. God would use Moses to govern the multitude and confirm Moses’ position before all the people.
So both mountain top experiences were for the benefit of God’s people. The first time was to bring God’s people out of bondage and into safety and freedom. The second time was to confirm that Moses was indeed the man whom God chose to be their leader
1. Moses first mountain top experience was for God to tell Moses the purpose for his life. Moses was to deliver the Hebrews from Egyptian slavery & bondage.
2.The second mountain top experience Moses had with God to commission Moses as the leader over all God’s people.

Very Few

There are very few
who see the morning dew.
They are snuggled in bed
resting their head.
So they are unaware
and some don’t even care
what the early morning brings.
There are many wondrous things.
The early morning sky
is catching to the eye.
Whether it’s cloudy or clear
there isn’t any fear.
The day looks totally grand
no matter from where you stand.
